Brazos Christian School Choirs

Under the direction of Mrs. Walker, our Music Teacher, the Grammar School Choir is comprised of 5th and 6th graders that are looking to learn the basic skills and knowledge of singing/vocal performance. Through weekly practices, and rehearsals for school performances, our students learn to sing, understand music notations, rhythm and beats, the staff and notes, and most importantly worship! We have 4 concerts a year in the Grammar School choir, Pastor Appreciation Day, Christmas musicals, Grandparents Day, and the end of the year program, In His Steps.

Under the direction of Mrs. Ellis, the Logic School Choir is comprised of 7th and 8th grade students, and is designed to continue the instruction that was begun in the Grammar School Choir. The goal of the course is to apply the vocal skills learned to improve their performances both individually and as a group. The choir shows their achievements through concerts which are given at the end of every quarter.

With the significant growth we have seen as a school in the last couple of years, we have been able to add extra programs to our elective offerings. Starting in the fall of 2022 we now offering a Rhetoric School Choir elective. RS Choir is designed to continue vocal technique, ear training, sight reading and musicianship. Using the Kodaly method of teaching, a cappella singing will be the method used for in-tune singing and blend.  Their varied 3-part/4-part repertoire will be used to enhance learning and reading parts, harmonizing and performing in several venues.

If your student would be interested in participating in the Rhetoric School Choir, please email our Fine Arts Director, David Hansen.
