About Dr. Joe Moody
Dr. Joe Marshall Moody was born in 1924 in Dyersburg, TN, where the importance of a quality education was instilled in him at a young age. He completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee in just 3 years before attending medical school at UT-Memphis. Following med school, Dr. Moody then served our country in the Korean War. After the war, he attended radiology residency at Wake Forest Medical Center and later found himself in Houston at MD Anderson learning radiation therapy before eventually starting his own practice of radiology and therapy.
Throughout his life, Dr. Moody gave scholarships to friends and family so they could continue their education. Christian education was important to him whether in a church or school setting and this scholarship was set up to continue his legacy of giving to help others continue their education. He loved being a part of Brazos Christian through his grandchildren, Michael and Kelsey Ball. He enjoyed attending their sporting events and concerts. He would be thrilled to know that he is helping other students to receive a quality education with a biblical worldview at Brazos Christian School.
About the Dr. Joe Moody Scholarship
We understand that God's plan has numerous peaks, valleys and bumps along the way for all of us. That is why the Dr. Joe Moody Scholarship was created — to help provide emergency financial assistance to Brazos Christian School families that are experiencing difficulties and hardships. We mean it when we say we BCS wants to partner with our families in developing the whole child with a passion for Jesus Christ, and this is a way to provide assistance so current students and families can stay at BCS. This scholarship is not intended to replace or supplement existing financial aid for regular educational expenses and is a one-time resource for our families.
